The Starfell
Artist Unknown
The first Shadow stretched across all that was, cast from the unknowable Elemental shape in fleeting opposition to the Light that shone behind it, as before yet after the Arcane formed threads along the infinite loom. A fleeting ribbon of the Four Forces soaring through nothing, the Prime Tapestry. It shot from the great beyond and tore apart the void that was, defining lines of illumination until finally it burnt out, unfurling and in its wake it left an embroidered universe tailored to life.
This was the ‘Starfell’; all Time and Space, carved from Light which flared and faded and Shadow which filled gave shape in its wake, bonded together by the magical Arcane and the mundane Elements. All that was and would be in the Prime Tapestry’s wake.
The Stars
The remnant flecks of the Prime Tapestry; conduits of Arcane in the grand expanse, uncountable and impermanent. Silent and above all else impartial witnesses to the song of the Starfell. They at times form constellations, offering abstract clues to what was and would be. The lines between such are the Manastream itself. This is the manifestation of the ever-changing flow of the Arcane; an astral river of magic.
The Sun
The final rest of the threads of Light upon the Prime Tapestry, where it collided with the Elements of fire and air. The Moon
A lesser mirror to the Sun, where Shadow collided with the Elements of water and air. The Moon, though grand, is smaller than the Sun for it shared its Elements with the World, and the Shadow with that which lay beneath it.The Overworld
The final rest of the Elemental threads from the Prime Tapestry, where earth and water were left in their grandest quantities to form the world. Remnant air seeped into the unfilled spaces, and occasional fire spilled down from the Sun. Here too dwell all of the lesser elements, rarest among them lightning. The Underworld
The final resting place of the Prime Tapestry’s final forces. Beneath the seas and the lands Shadow collects in opposition to the bright skies above them, forming the deep and the unseen below. The congealed children of the higher Elements reside here; metals, gemstones, the gasses and magma.
