The Nah’kahro
The Kobolds

A long lived species, the Kobolds, or the Nah’kahro, have explored the realm for hundreds and hundreds of years. These strange creatures come in many sizes and shapes, being both big and small, avian, aquatic and land dwelling. There is really no limit to their possibilities or their appearance, so long as a mundane animal has existed, so too has its Nah’kahro counterpart.
Personal Origin Beliefs:
The Nah’kahro praise two gods in particular, the two whom they believe have created them; these deities being the Earthen Father, Behruun, and the Fae Mother, Jadasyl. While most if not all worship these two gods as their creators, this does not mean that the Nah’kahro are limited in who they may praise. Ever open minded, both the Daarynd and the Maohna have never been known to force their kin into the worship of the Earthen Father and Fae Mother, despite the fact that many Daarynd find themselves walking the Green Path.
The Folklore of Creation:
Long ago, longer now than one could possibly imagine, the Earthen Father came to the Fae Mother with a proposal. To her he said, “Dear, Jadasyl, Queen of all that is Arcane and Fae - the watcher of the Mana Stream, I have an idea, a request even. With me I have brought only the finest samples of my lush woodlands, of the open sea, of the rolling clouds, and the richest, most fertile soil of all of this realm.”
“How curious! But why, Behruun, Horned King of the Wilds, Keeper of the Forests and Father of the Green, would you bring me these things?” she asked him.
“For the last hundred years I have dwelled in my forest, walking the shores and watching the skies. In all this time, I have come to see many creatures but something seems ever missing,” the Horned God would explain. “I have brought you these samples, for if we should come together, life beyond what they are could be breathed into them - life anew, so that our realm shall be blessed with a creatures that are as cunning of foxes, the swiftest of a sailfish, the wisdom of the owls and the patience of the tortoise - a perfect being.”
The Daarynd
Ruled by the Queen/King, the fae kingdom of the Daarynd has deep roots in the Green Path. All of the Crown have been druids, and the tradition is passed on.
The Court of Wystaarel is led by the Monarch. On the council are the Tree-Speaker (one who tends to the land, and ensures the forests are healthy), the Fae-Bound (one who ensures the fae are content) and the Green Warden (one who guards the woodlands).
Not officially on the council but often welcome to their meetings would be the favored equerry of the Monarch.
The Maohna
Seen near the shore or within the ocean’s depths, the Maohna lives their lives on water’s endless edge. Expanding their maps, recording their stories, and improving upon their skills. All in the name of the Goddess, Jadasyl.
While most may give their thanks to the Horned one, others give praise to the Goddess of Arcane and Fae. For she had given them a chance of having a purpose. The way of the Blue River is where many spend their life in concentration on the gifts that Jadasyl provides to them.
In the Domain of Waeseria, the head council made up of either 2-5 regulates the aura around them to keep the kin and sea at a peaceful harmony.

The Classifications of Kobolds:
While the many different types of Kobolds are vast and plentiful, there are limits to what there are. There are several houses that these Kobolds fall under: mammals, birds, amphibians, fish and reptiles. There are no invertebrate Kobolds..
Denied Kobold species:
Any animal combination that would emulate a mythical creature, e.g. a rhino-horse.
Any and all invertebrates.
Any and all humans and homonids.
Sugar Gliders/flying squirrels, flying snakes or other ‘gliding’ animals.
Platypi and Echidnas
Arthropods
The Anatomy of the Kobolds:
Average Height and weight:
The height of a kobold may vary widely, not just between Daarynd and Maohna but within each subclass as well. A rodent kobold may only be two feet tall, whereas a rhino may be eight feet tall, for example.
Kobolds can be no shorter than two feet tall and no taller than ten feet tall. Any desire to fall outside of those height restrictions will require application and approval by the LT.
Their weight would vary according to their size; there will be no restriction applied at this time but that is subject to change should it be needed.
Reproduction and Relationships:
While Daarynd and Maohna are both kobolds, they are not able to interbreed due to the fact that only kobolds of the same family (canine, feline, fish, primate, etc.). With that in mind, kobolds are allowed to mix with the elves. These intermixed children will have very mild traits from their kobold parent, but not all the animal-like qualities and features they have.
For example, if a elf and a feline kobold had a child, the offspring could have a tail, perhaps ears or a light coat of fur. The child may not be able to see in the dark as well as their feline parent, or have hearing that is quite as good, but may have some personality quirks of this parent due to the animal-like bloodline.
Maohna Appearances:
Any sea species one could possibly imagine! From an axolotl to a shark, the seascape is engulfed with a rich variety of water-like backgrounds that you can choose from. Sizes will span between 2ft to 7ft; it will solely depend on the subspecies you choose (example: a shark will be bigger than a sunfish Maohna). There is no limit to the vibrant colors of the sea! Most species will be limited to their real world counterparts, but it is possible for some oddities, such as a purple whale folk or a blue walrus.

Daarynd Appearances:
Diverse as they come, the Daarynd range from the soaring owls and seagulls, to the modest domestic cat, all the way to the fearsome wolf or massive elephant. Due to the fact that subfamilies can mix (the fox and the wolf for example), some kobolds in the Daarynd species may come in very unique or abnormal patterns and colorations. Due to their connection to the Fae Mother, accents of unusual colors may be seen on the Daarynd such as pink or purple tufts of fur or perhaps bluish tinted pawpads. These ‘mutations’ are not very common on average.

Redlines:
o- If you wish to play a Kobold that is a fantasy creature this must be approved by staff; there will be a Creature App for this but for the time being you will need to contact the LT.
o- Kobolds can not be smaller than 2ft and can not be taller than 7ft unless approved by the LT.
o- Kobolds can reproduce with any of the other races, resulting in hybrids. On this note, if the mother is of a species of animal that would naturally lay an egg, she will do so still.
o- All kobolds walk on two legs unless approved by staff.
o- Mixed kobolds are sterile, thus a kobold that is half lion and half bobcat are unable to reproduce on their own. This also applies to other kobold mixes, etc. The only time this is avoided is if the offspring takes fully after one of the parents (if the lion and the bob cat had a child and the child was only bob cat, that child would not be infertile).
o- All kobolds are base strength (standard human strength) no matter how big or small they are. Their physical appearance should reflect their strength or lack thereof.
o- Kobolds can be omnivorous despite what the base race would normally be. While it would culturally not likely be accepted by many, cannibalism doesn't inherently do anything to the kobolds eating other kobolds.
o- There are no insect kobolds. They must be vertebrates.
o- Only animals such as birds and bats are able to fly. Mammals that are approved and able to fly would not be able to be physically strong; their body type would be more frail to allow them to be able to fly still. In addition all flying birds would have hollow bones.
o- Claws, hooves, horns, antlers, spines and fangs as well as shells and other natural armor are uniformly as strong as human keratin and teeth.
o- Kobolds bear none of the venomous, acidic nor poisonous traits of their animal semblance, as well as a lack of projectiles where - rarely - applicable.
o- Semiaquatic kobolds are able to breathe underwater just as aquatic kobolds can.
o- The size of the kobold will largely depend on the species of kobold. For example, a mouse kobold will be smaller than a shark kobold.
o- Kobolds have the same sensory, regenerative and environmental limitations of humans with the exceptions of those that can fly or breathe underwater. Sensory determinants are however optional. For instance, a bat kobold could choose to have poor vision though they would not be capable of echolocation to a superhuman extent.
