Properties
Dualsteel comes in a generally dull form, holding no special properties at first. In fact, it's more brittle than steel, making it generally useless in its normal form. It holds a gray appearance that gives it no real importance, unless held during Midnight or Sunrise. Should such be done, it would gain a purple/golden sheen, depending on the time. Ancient Tavrosi peoples found that you could smith this metal during one of those times and transform it into something new.- Should normal Dualsteel be struck with any amount of meaningful force, it would instantly shatter. - Attempts to forge it during any other time than Midnight or Sunrise, the metal would instantly shatter. - After forging is done, the Lore Team must be contacted and given the RP that was done so they can sign and log the item. - Dualsteel may only be found during events or from special nodes. It is not an open metal. Saketh, a name for the metal smithed at Sunrise. In ancient Tavrosi, it means "Sunrise Steel". It becomes a little more durable and a little stronger than steel while gaining a golden sheen at Sunrise. Naturally, now, the metal is pure white. However, Clerics and their god may bless this metal, transforming it even more into Mu-Saketh, "Blessed Sunrise Steel". Raketh, a name for the metal smithed at Midnight. In ancient Tavrosi, it means "Midnight Steel". Just like Saketh, it will get even stronger when smithed at the right time, but this metal will gain a purple sheen during Midnight. Now, the metal is pitch black, holding that purple color during the right time. Similarly, if an Ancient were to send its power into the metal, it would change further, becoming Du-Raketh, "Cursed Midnight Steel". - Saketh and Raketh hold no special properties other than being stronger than steel. Other than this and its visual properties, it acts the same as steel. - Once forged, Saketh and Raketh cannot change colors. The only exception would be during an event. Mu-Saketh holds truly special properties due to its blessed state. Its white exterior is now covered in golden cracks that flow around it, letting one distinguish it as being different from normal Saketh. The metal will radiate heatless sunlight that reaches out [2] meters in every direction, granting light wherever it may be taken. In addition to this, creatures made by Ancients, and Ancients themselves, will feel a horrible burning sensation when they come in contact with this steel. Clerics who utilize this metal will find that its weight is halved, in their hands, or upon their body only. Those who hold no ties to the Ancients, however, will feel a sense of invigoration, a burning passion designed for that person and whatever situation they may be in, so long as at least an ingot of the metal remains on their person. While this sense doesn’t reduce fear, it may help one gain courage in the face of danger, or help them fight longer than they would have. Some say it has even allowed one to surpass their natural limits and escape from an unwinnable fight. Du-Raketh, like it's holy counterpart, holds unique properties due to the power of Ancients that have been placed within the metal. Similarly, the black metal gains deep purple cracks upon its surface to ensure that one can tell the difference between it and Raketh. In addition to this, an unnatural darkness will befall the world that resides within [2] meters of the steel, such being equal and opposite in power to Mu-Saketh. A hidden plague resides within the metal, one that plagues those who get cut by the cursed steel. The sliced area will turn black and purple while holding a constant, stinging pain that slowly grows until it covers the entire limb that was sliced. The inflicted area will be weakened to the strength of a scholar as the muscle deteriorates. However, this curse isn’t permanent. Overall, it takes [3] OOC days for the metal to fully take over the limb, such a state lasting until a total time of [1] OOC week has passed since the initial cut. The healing process will take another [3] OOC days where the cursed marks fade and strength is returned to the limb. With the help of a Cleric’s healing, however, the healing will start instantly, meaning that the curse will only stay for [3] OOC days, during which the marks fade and the curse is healed. - The Light and Dark from Mu-Saketh and Du-Raketh are equal and opposite. Should their affected areas touch, it will be cut in the middle, equally splitting the area. - The pain from Mu-Saketh is equal to receiving second degree burns and happens upon contact with the creature or Ancient’s flesh, whatever that may be. This will occur against Dark Mages as well, but only if there is no doubt the individual is a Dark Mage. In addition to this, it will also cause pain to those who are cursed by Du-Raketh. - Mu-Saketh cannot be used as a Darkspawn Test. When using it against a Player Character, the wielder must be absolutely certain they are a Dark Mage, else the Ancient’s Power will hide the individual from harm. - Mu-Saketh feels half as heavy in the hands of a Cleric. This cannot be used to create Guts style weaponry, however. - The sense of invigoration from Mu-Saketh provides no material benefit. It is simply a product of the mind, helping one overcome mental barriers. This only occurs if an ingot or more’s worth of metal is on a person. A ring, for example, is not enough. - Du-Raketh’s curse is only applied if it cut’s one’s flesh. It lasts a total of [1] OOC week and heals over the course of [3] OOC days after this week. Cleric’s healing can instantly start the healing process. - The pain from Du-Raketh is not debilitating, though it cannot be ignored. The curse marks are obvious to whoever looks at them, even on Kobolds and Moon Tavrosi. - If the torso is cut by Du-Raketh, then only the chest or back will become fully cursed. - The weakening only happens in the cursed limb, wherever the mark resides. This will weaken the core should it occur on the torso and will never kill anyone. - Should one be killed by a Du-Raketh weapon, curses will not show up on their revived body. Attempts to circumvent the curse by killing a character is powergaming and will be punished accordingly. |
